Consumers may find out more than what they want on the Internet, but that can't always be worthy. Recent research on online dating web sites proves that users presented with so many options to go through "cognitive overload" and it causes poorer decisions as a result. The findings could have implications for some other kinds of sites, though new technologies and approaches could help address the trouble, researchers advise.

Dating web sites are fully grown business. Reported by a survey conducted in 2006 by the Pew Center for web and American dating, more than 37 percent of all single Internet users have tried them out. Dating web sites often resemble e-commerce web sites such as Amazon, users insert search criteria such as height, look, religion and are given with a set of matches.

Even so, Online dating services are just among many Internet avenues that may facilitate a loving connection. 3 out of 4 online users who are single and seeking a romantic mate have done at least 1 dating based activity on net ranging from using dating sites, Most searches on dating terms comes from asia and europe such as asian brides, Filipina date, Asian Singles , Asian Women , Asian Girls and so on, Thai Girls to exploring information about future dates, to flirting thru e-mail and IM, to browsing for info about the local single scene.

Pai Lu Wu (Cheng Shiu University) and Wen Bin Chiou ( National Sun Yat-Sen University Taiwan) did an experiment that involved giving web date seekers changing numbers of search results to their questions on popular dating services. Their report printed last month in the journal "Cyberpsychology" and behaviour, shows that having many more search results leads to a less careful partner choice.

Chiou call it 'double edged sword', because public want a wider selection, but on the other hand give less time to evaluating every prospect. Wu and Chiou concluded that 'a lot of search selections lead to less selective processing by decreasing users' , distracting them with unsuitable info, and bringing down their ability to screen out inferior options." In different words, while faced with cognitive overload, date seekers evaluated as many matches as possible, even ones that were not a good fit, and they were more incapable to differentiate a right option from a bad one.

Simultaneously, when Internet dating is getting more common, there are still worries in the general public about the risks of posting personal data on dating web sites and about the authenticity of those who follow Internet dating.

Botnets now used to fake ad clicks

Snagit 7 | Snagit download | free snagit | Snagit free download | Snagit freeware |

One can make a lot of money with a few parked domains and a botnet these days. Enterprising criminals register dummy websites such as www.symanyec.com or www.kaspasky.com, which are visited by surfers who hit the wrong keys accidentally. The fake sites contain ad banners disguised to look like navigation menus. Since the owners are paid for every click on the ad, for example via Google AdSense, these domains are worth a lot of money. But these revenues can be multiplied easily as well: If a hacker has control over a number of computers in a botnet,

He can have them click on the ad banner of his website automatically and as often as he likes. According to security specialists at Click Forensics, even though the trick is relatively new, 25 percent of "click fraud" now comes from such botnets.

Emails sometimes contain sensitive information which you wish to delete safely, Does deleting them from the "Deleted Objects" folder in Outlook wipe them out completely? Usually when outlook deletes a message, Its contents continue to exist in the PST file ( Personal Storage ), Using a Hex editor or with other tools, It is still possible to access the deleted data. Only compressing the PST container will overwrite the unnecessory fields. To do that, select 'File | Data file Administration', select the PST file in the following dialog and open 'Settings' with a mouse click, In the next dialog 'Personal folder', Select 'Compact now', Depending on the size and fragmentation of the file and depending on the effeciency of your system, It can take some time.

Sorting the Outlook inbox using several criteria.

Don't use outlook express.

In the 'inbox' or another folder, many objects get collected over time. Although these can be sorted by the column headings, for example, by date or by the sender's name, It is not enough for heaps of messages. Let Outlook sort the messages according to multiple different criteria. Click on the column heading for the first criterion e.g 'From', Then press [shift] and keep it pressed while you click on other column headings one after the other e.g. 'Subject'. Let go of the [shift] key when all criteria are fixed.

Note:Outlook characterizes the sorting criteria through small light blue arrows on the right side of the respective column headings. An upward pointing arrow indicates ascending order, and a downward pointing arrows indicates descending order.

Wireless networks must basically be protected with the latest WPA encryption standard (Wi-Fi Protected Access), Sometimes, Wi-Fi routers in Centrino notebooks experience sporadic connection problem, Due to this, the notebook loses the connection to the WLAN router every 30 or 60 minutes, There could be two reasons: there could either be some problem with the router or there could be something amiss with the connection software used in notebook

I recommends using the Wi-Fi connection utility provided by Microsoft with Windows XP and above, This works perfectly with all Centrino-Compliant Wi-Fi adapters, It is best to unistall any other managers if you do not read the special functions of the proprietary software, If the windows tool alone has control over the network device, Then safe operation is guaranteed from the notebook, With the router itself, you must make sure the latest antivirus software is installed, In order to check that, open the configuration page of the router in your PC's web browser

Often routers have a static IP address which when typed into the address bar of the web browser, opens the configuration page , This address is available in the device's manual, On the other hand , if you have changed the configuration of the router making this static address invalid, you can find out the right address with the help of the ipconfig commands enter the command "cmd" under "start | Run" Type the command "ipconfig" in the next window, After hitting [Enter], some network data is displayed, The number combination following the "Default Gateway"entry is the IP address of your bar of your browser, Then go to the configuration menu of the router and first check the whether the firmware is the latest, Refresh and restart the router, If required,

Now, check the enryption settings sometimes, It is possible to activate a sort of automatic "WPA or WPA2" encryption mode, This is a very simple security measure, however, in some router-client combinations it can lead to the sporadic disconnections as described in the beginning, Therefore, change the encryption setting to the "WPA or WPA2" method - depending on which mode your notebook supports best, WPA2 is obviously stronger, Thus, your network is not only protected against disconnections, But also against hackers.

Although, there are many web portals offering the pay-per-click or PPC method of online advertising, search engines offer the best of returns to the advertisers. This is mainly because of the popularity they enjoy with users of any and every taste. As of the year 2007, Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and Microsoft adCenter have been the largest operators of this technique in the market. While Google was the fi rst search engine to come up with this service, Yahoo! Search Marketing entered this market by acquiring Overture Services, Inc. Although Microsoft’s MSN did not start this service formally under its own name until 2006, it also ran advertisement services provided by Overture Services, Inc.

Introduction to Google AdSense

AdSense is a service provided by Google, through which, your web portal can be advertised when keyword specifi c searches are made on any search engine. AdSense is preferred by both the webmasters and the users as they are less disturbing and annoying as compared to loud and flashy banners. Most web users use AdSense to make their content more commercially viable. The working of AdSense is very simple. Once you register your domain with Google AdSense, a JavaScript code will be sent to you. You need to incorporate this code into the source code of your website. The Mediabot, a Google proprietary, will crawl through your website contents to identify which keywords are present so that appropriate advertisements can be hosted on your website. Thus, in simple words, when you sign up with Google as a part of their AdSense program, your website would host sponsored ads, and you would be paid according to the price bid for the ad for each click.

Introduction to Google AdWords

AdWords is an innovative mechanism for advertising on the internet and make money blog. Google was the fi rst of the three search engine giants (the other two being Yahoo! and MSN) to come up with an advertising project of this nature. This service is lucrative to all advertisers, whether they have their own web domain or not. AdWords caters to all users irrespective of their online existence. As per this service, you need to create an AdWords account after which you can start earning, based on the
