Faster access to My Network Places

Labels:

Faster access to My Network Places - In XP, you had direct access to my Network Places in the start menu, In Vista, you have to work your way to it using the network and sharing center! With a registry trick, you will be able to directly open My Network Places in Windows Explorer in Both the systems under the list of drives, Thus, you get direct access to something that will save a lot of time, especially in Vista.

vistanetwork

In XP, open 'Run' in the start menu, enter 'regedit' and then click 'OK' to start the registry editor in Vista on the other hand, type 'regedit' in the start menu search box and press [Enter]. You must confirm the user account control after opening the registry.

Navigate to the 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace' Key in the editor. Then open 'Edit | New | Key'. Don't give it any name. In the right pane. double click on 'Default Data' and enter the values as '{992CFFAO-F557-101A-88EC-OODD010CCC48}' and save and exit. Then close the Registry and restart Windows Explorer. Nvidia Vista Problem

Labels:

Nvidia Vista Problem, Well i bought an assembled pc last month, Config -- C2D 2.8 ghz, 500 gb HDD, 4 gb ram, G31/33 Mobo, nvidia 9500 gt 1 gb graphic card, 18.5" widescreen AOC monitor.

1st - I'm Using a Windows Vista Home Premium OS, and it shows me just 3 gb of ram rather than 4 gb......

2nd - When i try 2 play games like farcry2, nfs undercover, underground2, Most Wanted, games freeze atleast 4 out of 5 times. But when they run, they run smooth, and fast at all settings high.....(Sometimes games freeze, n sometimes weird colors appear ehile playing) Else times, when not PlAYING GAMES, the pc works flawlessly

If ne solution, pls suggest......Would be Very Thakful

Digital Compass -- @ 1st problem.

Its not a real problem at all. I hope your must be a 32 bit system. any 32 bit system will only use 3.5Gb of RAM in winxp and 3 GB in windows Vista. Rest of memory will never be used and never be shown.

@ 2nd problem. Check whether the Nvidia drivers are updated till curren tdate. Here is the link: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

It is easy to restore the Recycle bin, Double-click 'Personalization' in the control panel. Then follow the 'Change desktop icons' reference to the left and finally activate the 'Recycle bin', Then confirm with 'Apply' as well as 'Ok'.
